Fascinating Insights From Google I/O 2025

Google I/O 2025 is Google’s biggest annual developer conference, and it is taking place from May 20- 21, 2025, in Mountain View. At the Google I/O 2025, there are a number of product announcements expected related to Android, Chrome, Search, YouTube, and Gemini.

This is another developer conference underway this week, like the Microsoft Build Conference in Seattle. Along with a plethora of other things, a number of AI announcements were made at Google I/O 2025. Here is our top pick for the most interesting products announced at Google I/O 2025:

Gemini Ultra

Gemini Ultra was announced and will deliver access to Google’s AI-powered apps and services for $249.99 monthly. It is only available in the US for now. It includes Google’s Veo video generator, and will also give access to Gemini 2.5 Pro Deep Think, which is a powerful new AI capability that is yet to be launched.

Veo 3 Video Generating AI Model

Veo 3 has a competitive edge over OpenAI’s Sora AI video generator because it can add audio, too. You can generate background noises with Veo and even dialogue, which will help take content creation to the next level. Veo 3 is better than Veo 2 in terms of the quality of footage it can generate. It will be available to subscribers of Google’s AI Ultra plan.

Image 4 AI Image Generator

As per the launch at Google I/O 2025, Imagen 4 is faster than Imagen 3, and will get faster, almost 10x quicker than Imagen 3. It can create finer details in images like fabric texture and water droplets on fur. Its abilities include photorealistic image generation, and even abstract styles will be possible in a range of aspect ratios and up to 2K resolution.

Imagen and Veo will be used to power Flow, Google’s AI filmmaking tool that will create high-quality videos.

Jules

Jules is an asynchronous coding agent that has finally moved into public beta. If you are a coder in any capacity, you should check out Jules because it can work with existing repositories, including GitHub.

Jules can help debug your code, build new features, and write tests. It will even show you its plan before proceeding with the changes. Jules will not train on your private code, and it is similar to OpenAI Codex, an advanced AI coding agent launched by OpenAI last week.

Android XR

During the Android show before Google I/O 2025, Google spoke about Android XR, which is the company’s foray into mixed-reality headsets in partnership with Samsung. The Android XR glasses have microphones, a camera, and speakers that will help to see and hear what you do. When paired with Gemini, we will be able to see AI manifesting in the physical world, as it offers robust assistance with more context about surroundings and everyday activities.

AI Mode

At Google I/O 2025, there was a significant focus on AI Mode, which is a search experiment that fuses traditional search with the conversational nature of AI chatbots. It will let people ask complex, multi-part questions and will support the use of complex data. Google Search feature Search Live is also rolling out soon, and will let you ask questions based on what your phone’s camera is seeing in real time.

Beam 3D Teleconferencing

Beam uses AI and a six-camera array to let users talk with someone as if they were in the same meeting room. An AI model converts video from the camera into a 3D rendering that feels natural and intuitive. You do not need to wear any headset or eyewear, and you can experience the depth and dimensionality of in-person meetings.

Conclusion

Google I/O 2025 showcased a mighty leap forward in AI, search, and immersive tech. With tools like Gemini Ultra, Veo 3, Imagen 4, and Jules, Google is redefining how we code, create, and connect. From AI filmmaking to real-time 3D telepresence, Google is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible across industries. The innovations presented signal a clear message—AI is now central to Google’s entire ecosystem and daily user experiences.
