The Second Edition of ETH Belgrade Emerges This June

Following the resounding success of its inaugural edition in 2023, the ETH Belgrade conference returns in 2024, scheduled for June 3rd to 5th.

Just like the previous year, the conference will unfold at Belgrade’s MTS Hall (MTS Dvorana), formerly known as the Trade Union Hall (Dom sindikata). Complementing ETH Belgrade, the second edition of the ETH Belgrade hackathon is set for May 31st to June 2nd, with the hackathon venue to be disclosed later. Both events form integral components of Belgrade Blockchain Week (1st June — 9th June 2024).

Boasting over 700 attendees, around 100 speakers, an equivalent number of hackers, 17 sponsors, and 24 side events, the inaugural ETH Belgrade is celebrated as a highly successful tech event, standing as a pivotal Ethereum-related gathering in southeastern Europe.

Anticipating a surpassing sequel, this year’s conference has already unveiled its first wave of speakers, featuring eminent figures from the ecosystem, including John Lilic (Telos Foundation), Solange Guerios (Chainlink), Jelena Djuric (Noble), Kenny White (Shell Protocol), Simon Emanuel Schmid (The Graph), and more.

Leading the sponsorship forefront are two locally renowned and globally impactful teams: Tenderly and DeFi Saver. Their unwavering support enables the conference’s success and high quality. In a bid to elevate the experience, ETH Belgrade has partnered with web3mine and also crypto investor John Lilic and his new team, Telos Foundation, forming the tier 1 sponsor team. With ongoing sponsorship applications, more teams and protocols are expected to join before the conference kicks off in June.

The event is projected to draw over 1000 guests worldwide. Covering technical and business aspects of the Ethereum ecosystem, ETH Belgrade will host prominent Web3 experts, leaders, engineers, and investors. Attendees can actively participate in workshops, startup sessions, and various smaller yet valuable events throughout Belgrade Blockchain Week.

Above all, ETH Belgrade serves as a gathering for Ethereum builders and those exploring the limits of the world’s second-largest blockchain. The hackathon holds a critical role, with organizers anticipating a larger prize pool and more innovative project ideas.

Over the past decade, Serbia has emerged as a vital region in the Web3 world, with Belgrade housing over 50 companies in this rapidly expanding industry. Globally recognized Web3 companies and platforms like DeFi Saver, and Tenderly trace their roots to Belgrade.

“Belgrade equals Web3. Some of the biggest Web3 projects globally started here, and it’s our mission to make Belgrade’s name as recognizable as they are,” says Petar Popovic, Founder and core organizer of ETH Belgrade.

Given Belgrade’s advantages, the Web3 community anticipates an extraordinary event that will become a tradition in the years to come.
