As digitalization advances, the information space is becoming increasingly vital as a foundation for democracy and social stability. At the same time, the spread of disinformation and deliberate information manipulation is deepening social divisions and undermining public trust, posing a shared threat across countries. This session will explore the roles of governments, the private sector, and civil society, with a focus on long-term approaches such as media literacy and high-quality journalism, alongside regulatory measures. It will also examine what kind of information space the region should foster. Join us for a discussion moderated by Prof. Maiko Ichihara, featuring Dr. Eve Chiu, Prof. Sriparna Pathak, and Mr. Albert Zhang.
